There isn't any suggested donation for supporting Santa Soaked. Why not? Because I'm not seeking donations. Instead, this project relies on gifts. What's the difference? That's a loose thread worth tugging on because it unravels the weaving that wraps us in consumer culture.
Having a suggested donation is crucial under our current arrangement. Why? As someone observed, we know the price of everything, and the value of nothing. That explains why our leaders haven't resolved the climate crisis despite decades of effort. We prefer to argue over the price of a fire extinguisher in a burning house rather than to get one and use it!
Gifting helps get us past that. With gifting, price is secondary. What's important is value. How does that work? Here, you can experience Santa Soaked, then judge its value to you. Then, considering your own circumstances, you decide what, how and how much to gift.
This is quite simple, but surprisingly difficult to do - at least at first. You need to find a moment to reflect. Today, we hardly have time to breathe, much less reflect on what we value. That's how we have lost touch with our values. Gifting helps us regain this sense. However you value Santa Soaked, I hope you find that gifting, restoring our sense of value, is invaluable and essential.

The Santa Soaked Storytelling Project is built on a system entirely suited to Santa - gifting! Gifting reawakens the goodness and generosity that is our natural, instinctive response to the world.
How this works is simple. If you cherish this story and/or the storytelling workshop with it, it's natural to reciprocate.
What's on my gift list?
First, please gift Santa Soaked to others. It's easy enough to simply forward an email gift card with the link to the book to family and friends. Thank you for your gift of time and effort to connect my story with your circle.
Second, please support a storytelling workshop. Santa Soaked is best when read out loud! It is an occasion to bring those close to you together to share your concerns for the climate crisis. It's easy to do that with the storytelling workshop. Please visit here for more information.
Finally, your financial gift is most appreciated. It is also necessary for me to continue my efforts raising awareness and action on climate.
If circumstances permit, simply gift at whatever level suits through Patreon/SantaSoaked. Or, if you prefer, send whatever sum you feel is appropriate through PayPal. Use gifts (at) SantaSoaked.net as the email account. Please be sure to select the “send to a friend” option. Gifts are not charged fees as with commercial transactions. Just click on the link here, or type in PayPal.com on your internet browser. Also, PayPal isn't all there is in how to send money online. If you prefer some other means to gift financially, please email to this address: gifts (at) SantaSoaked.net
It's important to note that for those struggling in these hard times, any monetary gift would be problematic – both to give and for me to accept. Also, in our age of income inequity, some make hundreds of times what others do. So, ultimately, your choice of gift comes down to value. If you are so situated that $100 is to you what a penny is to someone else, gift accordingly! Please note that the Internal Revenue Service sets a limit of $16,000 to gift to any individual in a calendar year. If you feel constrained by this limit, please feel free to contact me to discuss.
